WHAT WE DO

PRODUCTION AND POST-PRODUCTION

Following commission, we prepare a detailed schedule to help our clients see exactly what they are getting and when it will be delivered.
We then develop a visual script, outlining everything that happens on the screen, and when required, we write the all-important voice-over / narration track.

Our productions always benefit from the use of High Definition camera systems, and where possible, we like to shoot with multiple cameras, allowing for a greater diversity of material and flexibility editing process possible. Similarly, we plan the post-production stage in great detail, which is undertaken in our two, high-end Final Cut Pro HD editing suites. Delivery formats include HDCAM, Digibeta PAL or NTSC tape masters, DVD, CD-Rom, online video streaming and mobile video platforms.

Thanks to our growing reputation in the industry, we’re producing an ever increasing number of Electronic Press Kits (EPKs) for our clients. These kits organise existing and new video material for use by the news media and for internal presentations.

INTERACTIVE MEDIA AND 3D ANIMATIONS

In addition to our video production work, we use Flash technology to create media-rich applications for use online and on CD-Rom; these include on-demand conference webcasts, media galleries and players, and interactive training modules. We are currently developing applications that use Flash video synchronised with PowerPoint slides; coupled with testing and scoring, these can greatly enhance user learning.

We also design sophisticated animation sequences using 3D Studio Max and Lightwave 3D. The animation style can vary from CAD-like sequences to full-blown CGI, and composite CGI elements with live-action footage for added realism. Recent Orca animations have included a detailed workflow simulation of a particle accelerator, a neutron diffraction pattern experiment, and the use of Botox in non-cosmetic applications.
